Mornings

A pink dawn greeted us this morning only to be snuffed quickly with more snow showers. The outside boiler had gone out overnight but the stove temperature remained at 180f so the house wasn't going to get cold.

The chickens are still only laying a few eggs right now. We had eggs over easy and toast for breakfast. The kids call the whole meal Eggs & Dip Toast.

The outdoor temperatures won't get out of the single digits today. My car hasn't been starting reliably on these cold mornings and a new battery will be in order. It hasn't needed a new battery since we bought it 5 years ago. It also hadn't had a new cabin filter since it was made, as I discovered last summer.

Everyone has been asking for cinnamon rolls. It has been 3 days since the last batch and I'll have to make some this afternoon. This is the recipe I use every time sans frosting. If you need frosting, your rolls are too dry. Cinnamon roll recipe
